There are ways to scent a room. And then there's dry diffusion.

It's not about trends. It's about purity. When a dry diffuser operates, what it releases into the air is the essential oil in its original form — undiluted in water, unaltered by heat, unmixed with anything. It's the olfactory molecule as it comes from the plant, projected into space in microparticles of 1–3 microns.

The difference is noticeable. And in this guide, we explain why.

Cold nebulization doesn't just scent an environment. It delivers the exact fragrance you've chosen — true to the raw material, without mediation.
◆◆◆

What is dry diffusion

Dry diffusion — also called cold nebulization — is an aromatherapy method that disperses pure essential oils into the air without water and without heat. The physical principle is simple: a compressed air flow or a piezoelectric system fragments the oil into microparticles that remain suspended in the environment for minutes.

No dilution. No thermal alteration. No added humidity in the air.

Why choose it

  • Concentrated aromatherapy: the oil acts in its original chemical composition
  • No added humidity — ideal for humid climates or environments at risk of mold
  • Completely adjustable intensity, duration, and programming
  • Quick change between different oils without residue
  • Minimum maintenance: monthly cleaning with alcohol

When it's not the right choice

  • If you're looking for room humidification → ultrasonic diffuser with water
  • If you want visible, relaxing vapor → water diffuser
  • If you're looking for chromotherapy with LED lights → water diffuser

EUODIA offers both solutions. Many customers use a dry diffuser for concentrated aromatherapy and a water diffuser for evening relaxation with chromotherapy.

Maintenance and cleaning

Dry diffusers require very little maintenance compared to water-based models — no risk of limescale, no basin to clean every day.

Routine cleaning (with every oil change)

  • Remove the bottle and let it diffuse for a few minutes until the duct is empty
  • Insert a bottle with a few drops of 90° ethyl alcohol and let it run for 1–2 minutes
  • Remove and let it dry before inserting the new oil

Deep cleaning (every 1–2 months)

  • Use an alcohol-soaked cotton swab to clean the nozzle and the nebulization duct
  • Let it dry completely before reusing

Tips for longevity

  • Always use pure oils without additives — oils with carrier oils can clog the nebulizer
  • Avoid overly dense or resinous oils directly in the nozzle
  • Store the diffuser away from direct heat sources

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a dry diffuser and an ultrasonic one?
An ultrasonic diffuser mixes oil with water and produces a humid vapor. Dry diffusion nebulizes pure oil without water or heat, releasing the olfactory molecule into the air in its original form. The result is a more faithful, more concentrated scent with greater aromatherapy efficacy.
How much essential oil does a dry diffuser consume?
It depends on the mode and model. A 10ml bottle can last from 12–13 hours (intense AURA mode) up to 1000 hours (minimum ZEFIRO mode). In daily use with medium intermittent mode, a bottle generally lasts 4–8 weeks.
Are dry diffusers safe with pets?
Dry diffusion should be used with caution in the presence of animals, especially cats, which are very sensitive to essential oils. It is advisable to diffuse in well-ventilated areas, never in enclosed spaces where the animal cannot move away, and to prefer essential oils considered safer such as lavender, Roman chamomile, and sweet orange at low intensities.
Can I use any essential oil in EUODIA diffusers?
Yes, as long as they are 100% pure essential oils, without additives, carrier oils, or synthetic fragrances. Oils with very dense resinous components (like pure myrrh or benzoin) should be used sparingly to avoid clogging the nebulizer. All EUODIA essential oils are compatible with our diffusers.
Which diffuser is best for a large open space?
TAUER is the model designed for large spaces, with coverage up to 200 m³ and a triple control system (buttons, remote control, app). For commercial environments or very large open spaces, it may be useful to place multiple diffusers in strategic points of the space.

Domande Frequenti

• Bambini 3-12 mesi: agrumi dolci e lavanda in modalità leggera, massimo 30-45 minuti. • Bambini 1-3 anni: ampliare gradualmente oli e durata, max 1-2 ore. • Bambini 3+ anni: quasi tutti gli oli sicuri, seguire dosi consigliate. • Gatti: evitare fenoli e agrumi concentrati; diffondere in stanze ventilate. • Cani: maggiore tolleranza, ma sempre modalità leggera e pause regolari. • Gravidanza: preferire agrumi e lavanda, evitare oli emmenagoghi. Regola generale: diffondere in ambienti ventilati, fare pause (es. 2 ore ON, 2 ore OFF), e osservare eventuali reazioni.

  • Posso usare profumi o fragranze sintetiche?

No, assolutamente.

No. I diffusori a secco nebulizzano oli puri. Non aggiungere mai acqua, alcol o altri diluenti.

  • Meglio diffusore a secco o ad acqua?

Dipende dalle tue esigenze. EUODIA offre entrambi perché rispondono a bisogni diversi.

  • Posso usare oli densi come patchouli o vetiver?
